About Me
My name is Paul. I'm a writer.
I've worn a variety of hats in my professional career.
I spent a decade as a freelance journalist, specializing in food, travel, and sports. My work has appeared in the New York Times, the Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, Adirondack Life and a host of national and regional publications. I've also worked as a narrative copywriter for a wide-range of companies, including Whole Foods Market and Deloitte. Today, I make my living writing about genomics and biomedicine at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
But where I'm most comfortable is the intersection of reported nonfiction and history. I have a passion for exploring the overlooked and forgotten; for peeling back the layered accumulation of older narratives to uncover new insight.
I'm currently writing a book about Long Island.
